Episode 169 - 'Kingdom' Episodes 1-3
October is here and with it we're starting a new Korean drama to get spooked with. Politics meets horror (which actually feels pretty realistic, to be honest) in Kingdom; a K drama set in a fictional Joseon era Korea where the Crown Prince investigates the origins of a plague outbreak that is bringing the dead back to life. Listen to us as we talk about delightfully complicated characters, the ethical dilemma of cannibalism, and how we don't have the guts to be stunt people, but we appreciate those who do.
Since our reviews on horror Korean dramas are few and far between we just want to take a section here to remind you to heed the rating for this drama (TV-MA) and the reasons (Violence, Gore, Frightening & Intense Scenes). We also talk at length about these things in our reviews. We never want our listeners to unexpectedly watch or hear something that could upset them or make them feel unsafe in any way. While we enjoy horror content we know it can also be very disturbing and completely understand if you skip this one and we'll see you for our next drama!
